GrailCoat over SIPs

GrailCoat is extremely well-suited for use over Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), as a stucco siding replacement, and as a roof and roof deck coating, solving a number of problems other coatings do not.

  • Waterproofs, yet allows moisture transmission
  • Remains Flexible and thus highly crack resistant
  • Limited 20 year warranty on walls
  • 3 to 4 mm thickness allows for even coverage.
  • Seals openings. Compatible with metal and other materials.
  • Grips tight at parapets on flat roofs with no peeling.

SIPs are an excellent substrate for GrailCoat due to their straightness, stiffness, and continuous surface. SIP come in a variety of skins including:  OSB, Hardie board, fiberglass, and mag board.  The foam lamination to the SIP skin assures that wind shear does not overly stress the GrailCoat lamination bond. GrailCoat covered plywood structures in California built in the early 1970′s are still in fine shape.

The Result
